Hannah VanHoorne, LMSW

Hello, my name is Hannah, and I am a clinical therapist specializing in treating children, adolescents, and young adults ages 4–21. My intention is to offer a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and met with genuine compassion. There are moments when you may feel isolated, unsteady, or unsure how to navigate what comes next. Together, we will explore your strengths, nurture the qualities that make you resilient, and build the skills to move through life’s challenges with confidence and clarity.

My work includes partnering closely with parents to guide challenging behaviors at home, such as noncompliance, tantrums, and separation anxiety. As children grow, they may encounter low self‑esteem, depression, or other hurdles that benefit from therapeutic interventions. I rely on evidence‑based practices to guide treatment, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and dialectical behavior therapy. These approaches allow me to tailor interventions to each child’s unique needs and promote meaningful, lasting growth.

With more than eight years of experience across school, hospital, and outpatient therapy settings, I bring a well‑rounded understanding of child development and the many unique traits that come with it. My therapeutic approach is rooted in client‑centered care, creating a sense of belonging while setting meaningful goals and tracking progress together.

A specific speciality of mine is selective mutism, an anxiety‑based condition. My therapeutic approach integrates strength‑based practices and exposure and response prevention to build resilience and long‑term well‑being. I work collaboratively with schools and communities as we practice taking small and consistent brave steps towards a confident speaking self.

If you’re interested in therapeutic services or would like to explore whether I may be a good fit for you or your child, you’re welcome to reach out. You can contact me by email at hanna.mindfullifepractice@gmail.com or by phone at 231‑486-0805 ext. 777.
